Held the second weekend in May, he May Day parade and festival in Oroville is the oldest continuously running festival in Okanogan County.
It started sixty-one years ago as a play day to bring the community out for races, ball games, and a picnic.
It has grown into a nearly 100 entry parade, with a a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, a quilt show, and a B.B.Q. at the high school footbal field put on by the local Chamber of Commerce following the parade.
An arts and crafts show features local talent. A highlight of Mayday is the traditional May Pole Dance, which is performed by that year's 4th grade girls.
